- Central Asia and Change: the current GSR issue features several articles on Central Asian society, economy and politics in a globalizing world.
- The Human Rights, Justice & Democracy in Latin America project, an initiative funded by the Open Society Institute, will organize a conference series on the trial of former Peruvian President Alberto Fujimori and other human rights trials in Latin America. The project is under the direction of PIA faculty member Dr. Jo-Marie Burt.
- The Global Migration & Transnational Politics project at CGS is a MacArthur Foundation funded initiative that investigates how political dynamics around the globe have been transformed by new patterns of human mobility and the development of innovative transnational social networks. The working papers are now available online.

Globalization for Development: Trade, Finance Aid, Migration and Policy
Kenneth Reinert and colleague Ian Golding co-wrote the book Globalization for Development: Trade, Finance, Aid, Migration and Policy in 2006. Reinert also gave a lecture entitled "Globalization for Development?" at the 44th Annual Werner Lecture-Seminar Series at Western Michigan University. The series focuses on the challenges and opportunities of globalization and international development.
