Internship Details
George Mason University 's Center for Global Studies (CGS)—a research program focused on the multidisciplinary study of globalization processes and transnational interconnectedness—accepts applications for an internship at the beginning of every fall & spring semester. The internship is non-paid and for academic credit only. The number of internship credits awarded by your academic department will determine the internship's length and time requirements. Please contact your academic department's liaison regarding its requirements for accepting internship credits. Students typically work 125 hours over a minimum of eight weeks for three credit hours, or 250 hours over a minimum of twelve weeks for six credit hours. We expect our interns to work approximately ten to fifteen hours per week. We prefer, though do not require, interns to work out of our Arlington campus office; if this is not possible, we will discuss other arrangements.
Position Description
The CGS intern will perform a variety of supporting research and administrative tasks including but not limited to: literature reviews, global affairs briefings, events management, and office correspondence. The CGS Coordinator assigns administrative duties, whereas the CGS Director assigns research duties. All work will support CGS's current or prospective projects and programs. If particular CGS research or programs interest you, we will attempt to integrate your duties accordingly.
Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated interest or experience in fields or knowledge domains related to key research themes of CGS. Applicants must have strong research skills--online, electronic, and traditional bibliographic resources--as well as strong and versatile writing skills.

This position is open to all Mason undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled in a full-time degree program with a significant focus on global studies.
