"Global Justice Around the World: Women, War & Settling Accounts After Atrocity."

First Annual Guest Lecture on Transitional and Transnational Justice
As the capstone event of the 2011 spring film series, the group organized a guest lecture featuring Harvard anthropologist, Kimberly Theidon, who gave a talk on her research in Peru, which inspired the film ‘Milk of Sorrow’ about rape during Peru’s internal armed conflict. Theidon’s work on gender in conflict, sexual violence and transitional justice, and the micro-politics of reconciliation has been very influential in anthropology and the emerging field of transitional justice.
